* **[`/docs/transport-azure-openai`](/docs/transport-azure-openai)
  documents the shipped auth surface.** Managed identity is opt-in via
  `credential: "default"` and never a fallback; with it, the `endpoint`
  must be https on `*.openai.azure.com` or
  `*.cognitiveservices.azure.com`, or listed in `allowedEndpointHosts`.
  `@azure/identity` is an optional peer, loaded only on that path.
  Credential failures and HTTP 401/403 surface only as
  `"azure-openai: authentication failed"`, with the underlying error
  passed to `onAuthError`. The page no longer claims
  "Azure-specific cost-event emission", which the source doesn't do.
