• /docs/transport-azure-openai documents the shipped auth surface. Managed identity is opt-in via credential: "default" and never a fallback; with it, the endpoint must be https on *.openai.azure.com or *.cognitiveservices.azure.com, or listed in allowedEndpointHosts. @azure/identity is an optional peer, loaded only on that path. Credential failures and HTTP 401/403 surface only as "azure-openai: authentication failed", with the underlying error passed to onAuthError. The page no longer claims "Azure-specific cost-event emission", which the source doesn't do.
